Hello
I'm Joseph James. I've been collecting comics since I was ten and buying collections seriously for about a decade. Page & Panel is the name I put on the buying side of my company, KCJC20, which has been selling comics on eBay and at Florida conventions for years. Same person, same feedback history, just one clear place for sellers to find me.
When you message this site, you're talking to me. I read every message myself, I answer my own phone, and I do my own pickups. That's the whole reason I keep it small.
The collection that taught me the most
A few years ago I bought the entire back stock of an old comic shop in central Florida, roughly 20,000 books. On paper the books that mattered were the early 15-cent Amazing Spider-Man runs from the late sixties. The ones I still think about were the horror titles with the painted covers, worth far less, but the reason a lot of us started collecting in the first place.
That deal is why I buy whole collections instead of cherry-picking the keys. The boxes nobody else wants are usually where the stories are, and the person selling should not be left standing in a garage with them.
Why Florida
Florida is home. My parents retired to The Villages, and we live in Winter Garden, just west of Orlando. Between the weather, the conventions, and the number of lifelong collectors who retired down here, there's no better state to buy comics in. It also means a lot of collections are sitting in hot garages and storage units, which is why I move quickly when a family calls.
How I grade and price
I grade to the same 10-point standard CGC and CBCS use. For pricing I use CovrPrice and eBay sold listings for current market value, and CLZ to catalog what I buy. I don't price from old guides. With every offer I tell you which books carry the value and what comparable copies have recently sold for, so you can check my numbers before you decide anything.
